MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Congresswoman Gwen Moore wants Americans to have more money to spend, online or in stores.
On Monday, Dec. 2, she appeared in Milwaukee to promote a bill which would expand the earned income tax credit. She says if the bill passes, the tax credit would apply to more workers and put more money in their pockets.
"The more money you give people, the better our economy is gonna work," said Rep. Moore. "That $3 trillion will cycle back into our economy. It'll be spent at Best Buy, Payless Shoes, Kroger Grocery Store, Pick 'N Save and at Walgreens."
The earned income tax credit right now applies to low income people and couples, especially if they have children.
