Remains Found In Chicago Lagoon Identified As Missing Rockford Boy

(CBS Chicago) — Chicago Police confirmed DNA from the remains of a toddler found Labor Day Weekend in the Garfield Park lagoon match that of a missing boy from Rockford.

The remains were discovered over the Labor Day weekend and were badly decomposed. Police drained the lagoon and found the head, hands, and feet of the child, but not the torso.

Kyrian Knox, a two-year-old African-American boy from Rockford was last seen around mid-August. Rockford police said at the time they did not believe that Knox was abducted and was last seen in the care of a family friend.
