Racine Zoo Looking for Volunteers
The Racine Zoo is looking for volunteers. The Zoo is looking for volunteers from education to animal care, general office work, and special events and marketing.
The Adult Volunteer program, gives volunteers ages 18 and older the opportunity to experience a deeper level of involvement with the Zoo. Volunteers have the privilege to volunteer alongside Zoo staff in areas throughout the Zoo and assist them with daily operations, guest services, special events, program assistants, office work and even making animal diets. All positions require that the volunteer communicate effectively and pleasantly with the public, as well as represent the Zoo in a positive manner.
Volunteens is another program the zoo offers for young adults who are at least 13 through 17 years of age. To be a Racine Zoo Volunteen, one must be a dedicated, mature, and responsible individual and have the desire to learn and teach others about the Zoo, conservation and the natural world. Candidates for this program are selected after an interview process that is conducted each spring and the number of positions available varies each year depending on number of vacancies.
