Racine & Me: CPKC Holiday Train in our Community Calendar

RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- Cari from Visit Racine County joined us with our weekly Community Calendar! On Tuesday, December 9, the CPKC Holiday Train will once again make two stops in Racine County during its 27th annual tour of Canada and the U.S., raising money, food and awareness to support food banks across its network.

7:00 p.m. – Sturtevant Amtrak Station, 9900 E. Exploration Ct.
8:15 p.m. – Caledonia Railway Crossing, 11402 County Road G

There will be free concerts from the brightly decorated train’s stage with performances by American Authors and Pynk Beard. CPKC will donate to the Racine County Food Bank and encourages all attendees to make a non-perishable food and/or cash donation.

PARKING DETAILS:
Sturtevant – Parking will be available on Exploration Drive in the Amtrak Depot and Dental Associates lots. Overflow parking will be available in the Marcus Renaissance Cinema lot.

Caledonia – Parking on Hwy G first come; first served. Shuttles will be available 5:30-7:00 p.m. to the site from Swan’s Pumpkin Farm, 5930 Hwy H, Franksville, and Phantom Fireworks, 2086 27th Street, Caledonia. Shuttle fee is $5 per adult AND non-perishable food or cash donation to the Racine County Food Bank. Shuttles will return to the pick-up spots 8:45-9:30 p.m.

Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $26 million and collected approximately 5.4 million pounds of food for community food banks in Canada and the U.S.
