Racine County sees increase in COVID-19 cases for second straight week
RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine County continues to see an upward trend in positive coronavirus cases.
According to Racine County, 11,152 positive cases were confirmed the week of Nov. 16, up 1,543 from the week prior.
An additional 139 deaths have been confirmed.
The case rate in Racine County has grown exponentially since September. Here’s a look at weekly positive case increases since September, as published in the Racine County JIC updates:
- Sept. 14: +78
- Sept. 21: +250
- Sept. 28: +376
- Oct. 5: +359
- Oct. 12: +361
- Oct. 19: +535
- Oct. 26: +752
- Nov. 2: +994
- Nov. 9: +1,777
- Nov. 16: +1,543
There has also been a notable increase in deaths in the past month.
From Sept. 14 through Oct. 19, a total of nine deaths were recorded in Racine County.
From Oct. 26 through Nov. 16, a total of 38 deaths have been confirmed.
The City of Racine Health Department has ordered the closure of school buildings in its jurisdiction from Nov. 27-Jan. 15.
