Police: Man arrested on 10 counts of possession of child pornography in Racine County

CALEDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) --- The Racine County Sheriff's Office says a 40-year-old man was arrested on ten counts of possession of child pornography on Thursday, May 27. 

According to the Racine County Sheriff's Office, Donald J. Vanderbloomen was arrested after investigators conducted a search warrant for possession of child pornography near Marwood and Keywood in Caledonia.

Police say during the search, investigators found numerous computers and computer storage devices in a locked office. Investigators also found anabolic steroids, cocaine, and prescription drugs in the home that did not belong to Vanderbloomen.

According to officials, after an extensive search of the home, investigators found a hidden laptop and cellphone within the attic's insulation. A forensic examination of the electronic devices yielded a large quantity of child pornography, police say.

Law enforcement also found numerous firearms and body armor within the home. 

Vanderbloomen was transported to the Racine County Jail. The following charges were recommended to the Racine County District Attorney's Office:

  • Possession of Child Pornography: 10 counts
  • Possession/Illegally Obtain Prescription: 3 counts
  • Manufacture/Delivery Non-Narcotics
  • Possession of a Schedule III Anabolic Steroid: 4 counts
  • Manufacture/Delivery Cocaine
