1-year-old child, 3 others hurt after police chase ends in crash near Jefferson and Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Four people were injured, including a 1-year-old, after a police chase ended in a crash Thursday, Jan. 15, according to the Milwaukee Police Dept.

Police tried to stop a driver for reckless driving around 8:19 p.m. near 10th and Washington. The driver refused to stop and a chase began, according to MPD.

The chase ended when the driver ran a red light and hit another car at Wells and Milwaukee. The driver kept going and crashed into a fire hydrant and a building near Jefferson and Wisconsin, police said.

The driver, a 33-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was arrested. A 52-year-old passenger in his vehicle also went to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 23-year-old in the other vehicle was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A 1-year-old in that vehicle also went to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Charges will be sent to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
