CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — It seems no matter where you go, the World Series spirit is everywhere. From friendship bracelets to bagels and even more permanent features, there’s a special feeling in the air.
Some people are stringing beads. A little blue, a little gold and a whole lot of Brewers pride.
At Ruby's Bagels, it's pride you can take a bite out of. For some fans, cheering on the Crew means making a statement that won't wash off.
“State of Wisconsin and then the old-school Brewers logo,” said Ernesto Campos, who got a tattoo to celebrate.
At Fates Aligned Tattoo Shop, fans are getting Brewers ink, and the offer stands until the World Series ends.
“Lifetime fan, always. It’s the Brewers, once-in-a-lifetime thing, gotta do it,” said Campos.
This team has given fans a reason to believe even when the odds aren't always in their favor.
“They just keep chipping away like Contreras did after that double, just keep chipping away. Down 4-0, doesn't matter, they're just gonna keep going,” said Jason Crahan, a Brewers fan.
For some fans, they chose this team despite other family allegiances.
“Sorry, Tony and Dave! You’re Yankee fans. We're a small-market team. We're hungry,” said Chris Carrell.
Carrell picked this team, all thanks to his great-aunt and uncle.
“I didn’t know their best friend was Bud Selig, who owned the Brewers at the time, so I got all the autographs, all the letters, all the balls a kid could ever want, and I was the biggest Brewers star in Pennsylvania,” said Carrell.
He's proud of that title, and he's not giving it up now.
“I challenge anybody, even from Milwaukee,” said Carrell.
Some are happy to see a team like Milwaukee get its shot.
“Just happy the Yankees and Dodgers aren’t in it,” said Crahan.
