Pedestrian Killed in Winnebago County Crash

At 3:19 PM on Tuesday May 31, 2016 a crash occurred on N. Commercial Street at E. Forest Avenue in Winnebago County near Neenah.

Assisting agencies included Neenah Police Department and Gold Cross Ambulance.

The crash involved 1 fatality.

The details of the crash are as follows:
A 66 year old white male, driving a green 4dr car was stopped on E Forest Ave at Commercial Street, waiting to turn right at the traffic control light. The light turned green and the driver started to turn north onto N Commercial St. As the driver was turning, a 77 year old white male stepped into the crosswalk, in the path of the green car. The 77 year old male was struck with the front passenger corner of the vehicle and fell backwards hitting the back of his head on the concrete roadway. The 77 year old man was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Theda Care Regional Medical Center where he later died of his injuries.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is completing an investigation of the crash and is also completing a crash reconstruction. There is no indication that either the driver or the pedestrian were impaired.
