Pedestrian hit, killed by car in West Allis near 108th and National

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) --- A 36-year-old man is dead after being hit by a car while crossing the street in West Allis on Sunday, Jan. 24.

Police say the driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene. Police say the car is believed to be a tan or silver GMC Yukon XL Denali, manufactured between 2001 and 2006. 

Authorities say the crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. in the 2800 block of Highway 100. A preliminary investigation indicated a vehicle traveling northbound on South 108th Street hit the man, who died on scene.
