Packers Mike Pennel Suspended for Four Games

Packers defensive end Mike Pennel has been suspended without pay for the team's next four games for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Pennel’s suspension begins immediately meaning he will be eligible to return to the Packers’ active roster on Monday, January 2 following the team’s January 1 game against the Detroit Lions.

Pennel was originally facing a year-long suspension, which would have kept him out for the rest of this season as well as the majority of the 2017 season. Now that is has been reduced to four games, the defensive tackle would be eligible to return during the playoffs, should the Packers make it that far.
