OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An Oak Creek woman is sharing her story of sexual abuse at the hands of disgraced doctor Larry Nassar.

Hundreds of women have accused Nassar of sexual abuse and assault during his time with USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University.

Nicole Casady trusted Nassar when he treated her gymnastics injuries as a teenager and later when she joined Michigan State’s team.

“That treatment wasn’t actually a treatment,” she said. “It was sexual assault.”

Casady estimates it happened at least 60 times.

It was only when Nassar’s accusers started coming forward, years later, that she realized what he had done wasn’t ok.

“It’s devastating,” Casady said. “It’s one of the things that changes you forever. Initially my thoughts were how could I have been so stupid to not realize that? It hurts.”

Casady is now part of a lawsuit against her alma mater along with more than 100 other women.

Michigan State has already settled with hundreds of others of Nassar’s victims.

Nassar will serve at least 40 years in prison.

"It's great to see some form of justice, however a maximum of 160 years for molesting 500 women doesn't often seem fair either," Casady said.

Nicole is taking an active role in fighting for change at Michigan State; she’s traveling to campus Friday to speak in front of the university’s Board of Trustees.
