WISCONSIN (CBS 58) – A new study conducted by a consumer group based out of Madison found asbestos in children’s retailer, Claire’s, makeup products.
According to the group, WISPIRG, three makeup products from the fashion and accessories company tested positive.
Claire’s contour kit, shadow and finishing kit and compact powder were all contaminated with asbestos. WISPIRG is now calling on the company to recall the products and notify customers.
“We’re urging them to look into their supply chain and figure out exactly how this happened so that we don’t end up with asbestos in products again,” WISPIRG Foundation director Peter Skopec said.
WISPIRG has also notified the FDA of the findings. The new results come after the company recalled nine products in December 2017 for the same problem.
