Seniors in Mequon living center hit 30,000 steps to raise awareness...
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- With the start of early voting for the Wisconsin presidential primary, a new campaign launched with activists calling on Wisconsinites to vote uninstructed.
Organizers held a rally near Milwaukee City Hall on Tuesday, March 19, joined by community leaders and activists.
The campaign is raising awareness of the choice to vote uninstructed on the Democratic primary ballot in Wisconsin, rather than voting for President Joe Biden or Dean Phillips.
It's inspired by similar campaigns in Michigan and Minnesota, meant to send a message to the Biden administration that voters are against U.S. providing military aid to Israel as attacks on Gaza continue.
"Democracy looks like listening to a majority of Americans who support a ceasefire. Who do not want their tax dollars funding war crimes in Gaza," said Halah Ahmad, Listen to Wisconsin campaign.
"Everybody across Wisconsin can show up to the polls and clearly in one voice say that we will not be complicit in and enabling genocide, and that we will vote 'Uninstructed' on April 2," said Milwaukee County District 4 Supervisor Ryan Clancy.
To receive delegates for the Democratic National Convention, "uninstructed" must receive 15% of the statewide vote, or 15% in any congressional district.
