A couple of native Milwaukeeans have teamed up to create a unique product. "Leashless Lab" uses repurposed beer grains from local craft breweries to create and sell all-natural dog treats.
"In addition to the grain, we also use three other all natural ingredients which is a rice flour, organic peanut butter, and eggs we source from a local farm in Wisconsin," said Owner of Leashless Lab Nikki Collier.
"Their mission of community and supporting community and doing great things in addition to their business really worked well with what we're trying to do at raised grain so it was a really natural fit," said Owner of Raised Grain Brewing Nick Reistad.
Leashless Lab also uses spent grains from Lakefront Brewery, Black Husky Brewing, and Third Space Brewing. The Wisconsin Humane Society will receive 10% of the profits from each bag sold.
The treats are sold online, at various local pet stores, and at the breweries mentioned.
