MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Some Milwaukee Public School students spent the morning out of the classroom learning about potential careers.
They were at the WE Energies training center learning the day-to-day job duties of a line mechanic.
The students were recently accepted into the company’s work-study program.
WE Energies says partnerships like this are a great way for students to explore jobs they’re interested in.
“These guys are out in the field, they’re working in the community. It’s something different every day. You’re moving around and that really appealed to these students,” said Cathy Schulze with WE Energies.
Students will job shadow line mechanics this summer.
Once they graduate high school they will have an opportunity for full-time employment with WE Energies.
