MPD Officers Shot at While Responding to Burglary

Milwaukee Police Officers survived an encounter with an armed suspect who shot at them Thursday evening.
Officers responded to a burglary in progress in the 4500 block of N. 26th Street, on Thursday, November 17, around 10:25 PM. As officers arrived, they encountered a suspect who fired a handgun at them.
An officer returned fire but no one was struck. After a brief foot chase the suspect was arrested.
The suspect is a 23-year-old Milwaukee man who has an arrest record with Milwaukee Police.
The officers were not injured, the investigation is ongoing, and the case will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
