Cool start to the holiday weekend with some showers possible
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say a 2-year-old boy was abducted during a shooting and carjacking on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Authorities say it happened around 7:11 p.m. near West Spencer Place near Armitage Avenue.
A 28-year-old man sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound and is recovering at a local hospital.
During the carjacking, the suspect took the victim's black 2017 Nissan Sentra 4-door with the Wisconsin license plate 737-YBP.
In the backseat of the Nissan was a 2-year-old Milwaukee boy who has since been recovered, unharmed. Authorities say the child was dropped off at a local Walmart.
Police are seeking a known suspect, as well as the vehicle.
Neighbors said police went door-to-door asking residents what they heard and saw.
“It’s such a quiet area,” Michael Czappa, said. “It bothers me a little bit, but the police are good in this area so I feel safe.”
