Move-in day for Marquette University residence halls is Aug. 24

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Marquette University is welcoming students into residence halls on Tuesday, Aug. 24 ahead of the start of the 2021-22 academic year.

The university says more than 1,650 first-year students will be moving in. The students are from 37 states, three U.S. territories, and eight foreign countries.

Marquette said they are preparing for a return to regular campus operations with over 90% of the student population vaccinated. 

Move-in will begin at 8 a.m. with a formal blessing for new students and their families at 9 a.m. at The Commons. New Student Convocation will be held at 4 p.m. on Central Mall, south of Wisconsin Ave, and adjacent to St. Joan of Arc Chapel, on Wednesday, Aug. 25.

The first day of school for all undergraduate students is Monday, Aug. 30.

Officials say masks are required for all people entering campus buildings, including residence halls.
