The city of Milwaukee is celebrating its tenth Annual Downtown Employee Appreciation Week, July 27 – July 31.
The week will feature special events, office challenge games, lunchtime giveaways and discounts for downtown’s 81,000 employees.
Mayor Tom Barrett and County Executive Chris Abele scheduled to participate in an opening ceremony today at Red Arrow Park.
Free mini subs and chips, brat sliders, iced coffee samples, and chocolate chip cookies were available to the first 1,000 employees at Red Arrow Park at noon.
In addition, downtown employees will be eligible for discounts at area businesses. Workers are encouraged to wear a paper clip to identify themselves as downtown employees. The paper clip will serve as the official “ticket” in redeeming discount offers and receiving complimentary items. A complete list of discounts can be found at www.milwaukeedowntown.com/iworkdowntown.
