Milwaukee to receive $61M in emergency rental assistance

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee is getting a new infusion of federal funds to help renters avoid eviction.

Mayor Cavalier Johnson announced Friday, Jan. 7, that $61-million in emergency rental assistance money will be available to help families pay current and back rent. 

The funds can also be used for energy costs and other housing-related expenses.
