Milwaukee police seek suspect involved in brazen robbery near Hopkins and Hampton

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are looking to track down a suspect who robbed a business near Hopkins Street and Hampton Avenue on Tuesday, May 19. 

Authorities say around 6:15 p.m., as a cashier was assisting a paying customer, the suspect reached into the register and attempted to pull the cash tray out of the drawer. Police say the suspect struggled with the employee, but was able to steal money from the cash tray and run from the store. He was last seen running northbound on North Hopkins Street. 

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 25-30 years old, standing 5'7" - 5'9" tall, thin build with a short black Afro and medium skin complexion. He was last seeing wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt over a white t-shirt, faded bleached jeans, and black Nike shoes.

The suspect goes by the name of “Soda” or “Silk," police aid.
