Milwaukee man sentenced to life without parole for killing girlfriend

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — A Milwaukee man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for fatally shooting his girlfriend in 2024.

According to court records, 46-year-old Robert J. McKnight was sentenced after being convicted of the first-degree intentional homicide of 37-year-old Jennifer Parr.

The shooting happened Aug. 25, 2024. When officers arrived, they found Parr in a parking lot with gunshot wounds to her head and leg.

According to the criminal complaint, multiple witnesses heard the shooting and Parr pleading for her life. Prosecutors said McKnight first shot Parr in the leg before shooting her in the head as she attempted to flee.

As additional officers arrived, a deputy found McKnight lying in the parking lot pointing a handgun at his own head, according to the complaint. He was taken into custody without further incident.

McKnight will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
