PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man charged with killing two people in a wrong-way crash changed his plea Tuesday in Ozaukee County court.

Ozaukee County District Attorney Benjamin Lindsay announced amended charges Monday in a plea deal for 35-year-old Ace Vue, who killed an Oostburg couple last May when driving the wrong way on I-43.

According to the criminal complaint, Vue drove recklessly on the highway for around seven minutes in the early morning hours of May 26, 2025, before hitting a car head-on in Port Washington.

Fifty-six-year-old Jay Horne and 51-year-old Nicole Horne were killed. Their 22-year-old daughter, Allissa, was seriously hurt.

Vue initially pleaded not guilty to 10 charges: two counts of first degree reckless homicide, one count of reckless injury, and seven counts recklessly endangering safety.

On Tuesday, Lindsay downgraded the first three charges to two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, and one count of injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

Vue pleaded no contest to all three charges.

The other seven charges were dismissed but will be read in during Vue's sentencing hearing for the judge's consideration.

The state is recommending a sentence of 20 years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision.

Judge Sandy Williams can consider up to the maximum sentence, which would be 40 years of prison for each homicide charge and 12.5 years for the injury charge, a total of 92.5 years in the Wisconsin prison system.

Vue's sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 12 at 3 p.m.
