Milwaukee Launches New City-County Opioid Task Force

Finding ways to stop Milwaukee's opioid epidemic

That's the goal of Milwaukee's new city-county opioid task force.

Milwaukee County Health and Human Services director Hector Colon tells us that there are two main goals of the task force.

They want to develop a prevention awareness campaign and give resources for intervention and treatment.

"I hope that we can access federal funds, state funds, local dollars, maybe reach out to foundations to really help with those two fronts," said Hector Colon of Health and Human Services.

The task force also plans to present recommendations to the Milwaukee Common Council and county board.
