Milwaukee house fire claims one life and injures three others

MILWAUKEE-- Firefighters responded to a home near 2nd and Townsend after a blaze broke out early Saturday morning.


Firefighters started an aggressive interior attack on the fire. While they fighting flames they found a female victim and pulled her out of the home.


They performed advanced life saving measures, but the woman died from her injures.


Two others in the home were injured in the fire. A firefighter was also injured when some debris fell on his head.


The fire department said that there were no working smoke detectors found in the home.


About 6 people were displaced in the fire, which caused an estimated $100,000 worth of damage.


The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
