Milwaukee DPW employee electrocuted on city's south side
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We're learning more about a Milwaukee Department of Public Works employee who was injured on the job.
It happened around 10 yesterday morning, when the 38-year-old worker was on a job site near 5th and Harrison on the city's south side.
DPW says he misidentified wires that belonged to We Energies, and when he cut into them, an electrical short shocked him.
A man living nearby told us the response from first responders was massive.
"Everybody was shocked because there were so many ambulances and so many people from the city coming down, that's something we don't see too much," said witness Joseph Quiles.
We're still working to find out about the condition of the worker, but when we are told we'll be sure to update you as soon as we can.
