Milwaukee Downtown Appreciation Week kicks off

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Monday, Aug. 17 kicked off a week-long celebration of those who help make Milwaukee a special place. 

At Red Arrow Park, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to kick off the 21st annual Downtown Employee Appreciation Week. 

To help get things started, Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson showed his appreciation to the city's workforce. 

"It doesn't matter if you work in the public sector the private sector the nonprofit sector, downtown Milwaukee really is the beating pulse for the entire economy for the state of Wisconsin," said Mayor Johnson. "It is our pleasure to work and make sure that we are recognizing those employees who make downtown move each and every single day."
