Milwaukee African Women's Association collects supplies for fight against ebola

The fight against ebola may seem far from Wisconsin, but that's not stopping a local coalition from pitching in. Throughout October, the Milwaukee African Women's Association set up donation bins at Pick N Save locations across Milwaukee for preventive supplies like hand sanitize, gloves and soap.

The collected supplies will be donated to healthcare workers in Sierra Leone.

\"Unlike here in the U.S. you have these large Pick 'n Save stores, Targets, Walmarts where once can purchase these items for relatively cheap and purchase them in bulk if they like. In Sierra Leone there are not these options, the stores are smaller the items are fewer,\" team leader Liliane McFarlane said.

The group is also accepting monetary donations that will go to Sierra Leone.
