Menominee Tribe says casino is about more than jobs

MADISON - Menominee Chairman Craig Corn led a gathering of leaders and school children to the capitol Tuesday to highlight that a new casino in Kenosha is about children as much as it is about jobs.

His tribe is the poorest and he has hope Governor Walker will give his approval.

"When you're on the bottom, the only way is up. And if you don't have that opportunity, I think we ultimately stay on the bottom."

Menominee Tribal School Principal Shannon Chapman spoke about her 100 year old school building in need of repairs.

"The students that we work with are going to be the people that are someday sitting at this table in front of these cameras and it's our job as an educational institution to prepare them for these opportunities and careers."
