MCTS redesign includes new, improved bus routes and faster arrival times

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Riders who take the bus in Milwaukee County saw some major changes on Sunday, March 7.

They include new and improved bus routes, along with faster arrival times.

MCTS started working on these changes back in 2018 as a way to improve the rider experience and meet the community's modern needs.

There has a been a significant drop in people using MCTS buses, but they say the pandemic made it clear that public transportation is still essential.

"At the beginning of the pandemic, it became obvious that we were serving a lot of essential workers, so that means people who work at the hospitals," MCTS Spokesperson Matt Sliker said.

They also hope these new changes help address racial inequity and enhance the quality of life for riders of public transit.
