MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We have new details about a police pursuit that ended in a crash that killed a Milwaukee father and injured two others, including his 1-year-old daughter.

Authorities are looking for the reckless driver who caused the tragic incident near 37th and Sheridan on Tuesday, May 24.

"I can't help but to express my grief and empathy for the family of Mr. Cooper who was doing nothing but going about his business on that afternoon when the senseless and the recklessness in our community took his life and injured two others and left a stain in this community," said Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Earnell Lucas.

Officials say deputies noticed the driver's reckless behavior and pursued him. They had to call off the pursuit after crashing into a parked car.

The driver got away and hit 49-year-old Teion Cooper's car, killing him. His fiancé and baby girl were passengers, too.

The suspects fled on foot.

Sheriff Lucas said they are working to identify the owner of the car the suspects were driving. They believe the owner could direct them to the person they're looking for.

Two Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office deputies have been placed on administrative duty as the investigation continues.

"We are going to work contently to identify those individuals and bring them into custody so we can bring justice in this community," Sheriff Lucas said.

The Milwaukee Police Department is the lead agency on the case. They will be following up on any tips or leads.
