Man taken by Flight For Life after jumping 25 feet off I-94 following police chase

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Tuesday evening, August 29 at 8:46 p.m. a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a 2004 Nissan 350Z that was driving south on I-94. The Deputy activated his emergency lights and siren to stop the vehicle for an illegal temporary registration.

The vehicle sped up with speeds reaching 100mph. In the approximate 9100 block the car lost control and hit the west side median wall.

The driver of the car was a 24-year-old man who got out and jumped off the interstate falling 25 feet to the road underneath which was Highway C. A car driving east on Highway C had to swerve to avoid hitting the man.

The driver was taken to Froedtert Hospital via Flight for Life with severe injuries. An 18-year-old passenger who remained with the vehicle was also transported to hospital for injuries.

The driver is facing charges of OWI, hit-and-run causing injury and fleeing.

Roads were closed for about three hours while the crash investigation took place.
