Man saved from roof of house in Fond du Lac

On Sunday, May 28 at 6:48 PM Fond du Lac Fire received a phone call on their non-emergency line from a man who staid that his friend was stuck on his roof and was losing his grip and about to fall at 164 E. Scott St.

Firefighters arrived and found the man hanging from the chimney near the peak of the roof. The house was a single family one and a half story cape cod style and the roof was a very steep. Firefighters quickly put up a ladder and once the ladder was up the man was able to very easily grab and climb onto the roof.

"Credit the rescue crews who kept the victim calm and  provided him a safe passage off the roof," said Fire Chief Peter O'Leary. "As a reminder to all citizens, call 911 when you have an immediate need for a fire/rescue response. We are not always at our fire stations, and your call may not be answered as quickly if you call our non-emergency lines".
