Man Finds Intruder at Foot of His Bed

A Southwestern Wisconsin man awoke early Thursday morning to a light on in his bedroom and subsequently observed a man standing at the foot of his bed, according to Cottage Grove Police Department’s Facebook page.

At approximately 2:42 AM, the subject fled when the homeowner noticed him and took a pellet gun from the bedroom with him.

It was determined that he also had taken a cell phone and cash in addition to the pellet gun.

The homeowner stated that the subject entered the residence through an unlocked door.

Police are asking the public to “Please lock your doors when going to bed and when away from your house.”

The subject is described as a black male, approximately 25 years old, 6 feet tall, medium build with a thin face and a cornrow hairstyle.

The Cottage Grove Police Department arrived on scene and a search of the residence and area was conducted.

A K9 track ended at a nearby street where the subject may have entered a car.
