MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An Oct. 20 criminal complaint says 39-year-old Emeka Mordi of Milwaukee faces charges of kidnapping, second-degree sexual assault and substantial battery after police say a woman was driven away from a Milwaukee concert area on Saturday, Oct. 10.

The complaint says the woman was highly intoxicated and became separated from her friends. Surveillance video shows a white van park near West Wisconsin Ave. at 11:28 p.m. and a person escort her into it, according to police reports cited in the complaint.

Her husband reportedly called her afterward and heard a man tell her to put on her seatbelt before giving the man their home address.

The woman told police she remembers nothing after 10 p.m. until she was in a vehicle with a man she did not know. She is cited in the complaint as saying she tried to fend him off, he struck her once in the face and she lost consciousness. She woke up much later and walked home, where police found her after her husband reported her missing.

She had abrasions, bruising and cuts, and her purse, credit cards and phone were missing, the complaint says.

Detectives say surveillance and cell phone data show she was in Mordi's van until 1:28 a.m., when she was dropped off in a parking lot blocks from her home, and that the van is registered to him. Mordi told police he saw a woman who seemed to be in distress, offered her a ride and escorted her into the van, the complaint says.

A sexual assault kit found male DNA, and the woman identified Mordi in a lineup. The complaint says Mordi ended his police interview when detectives asked about DNA evidence.

The charges mentioned allegations. Mordi has not been convicted.
