WATERTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Fifty-four-year-old Jeffrey Redecker appeared on video at in the Jefferson County Courthouse Tuesday.
He's charged in the hit-and-run death of Cole Strohbusch in Watertown last weekend.
As the judge was considering bond requests for Redecker, a woman in the gallery who identified herself as Cole's sister made an emotional request.
"If you do consider bond, that it not be posted until after Christmas so he is unable to be with his family, since we are not able to be with Cole," she said. "Thank you very much."
Jeffrey Redecker faces three felony counts, including hit-and-run involving death and homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
The judge set bond at $500,000 and ordered GPS and alcohol monitoring.
Redecker is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 2.
