Man arrested after breaking into gas station in Mount Pleasant

Friday morning at 12:18 AM someone tried to break into the SF Petroleum in Mount Pleasant. The suspect broke the front window but an employee that was still working confronted the man and the suspect left.

Immediate attempts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful, but the suspect was identified as 37-year-old Racine man Shane Williams.

At 6:34 AM, a Mount Pleasant officer was on patrol in the 2200 block of Howe St. when he recognized a person matching the description of the suspect. After a brief interview was conducted and evidence linked Williams to this crime, he was arrested.
