Madison Family held by Gunpoint in Home by Intruders

MADISON, Wis.(Channel 3000) - A Madison man has been charged in connection with a violent home invasion at a family's home on the Madison's east side last month that injured a man and woman as their young daughters watched, police said.

Madison police said 31-year-old Rollo R.P. Prince was arrested on suspicion of attempted armed robbery in connection with an incident on Jan. 24 where two men wearing masks held a family at their Retana Drive home at about 6:20 a.m.

A 36-year-old man was shot in the shoulder area and a 38-year-old woman was battered as their two children stood in the bedroom and witnessed the violence, according to a report.

Madison police said Wednesday that the couple's two children were home at the time of the incident, though they weren't physically injured.

While the intruders were in the home, one of the men repeatedly asked, "Where is it?" The victims told officers they did not know what the criminals were seeking, or why their home had been targeted.

Police said the second intruder is still on the loose.
