Lucroy returns, singles but Brewers drop decision to Cardinals

St. Louis -

Jonathan Lucroy returned to the Brewers lineup as pinch hitter, singling Thursday in a 7-3 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.

Lucroy has missed a few weeks of action with concussion symptoms after taking a foul ball off his jaw in Miami. Doctors finally cleared the former All-Star to return to action earlier Thursday. He will not be catching again this season.

The Brewers scored three runs in the top of the first inning, led by Hernan Perez's 2-RBI double. But the Cardinals got the lead back with two swings, back to back home runs by Jhonny Peralta and Stephen Piscotty off of Taylor Jungmann.

The Brewers play St. Louis three more times in the series, which wraps up Sunday afternoon.
