MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- They're go-getters, innovators, risk-takers, and leaders.
The Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast recognized four outstanding women during its annual 'Celebrate the Promise' event at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee.
These are women who make our communities better and who serve as role models for girls.
Here are the 2019 honorees:
Go-getter: Lora Strigens, Vice President for Planning and Facilities Management, Marquette University
Innovator: Linda Marcus, Owner and Designer, Linda Marcus Design
Risk-taker: Becky Valcq, Commissioner, Public Service Commission of Wisconsin
Leader: Cecelia Gore, Executive Director, Brewers Community Foundation, Inc.
It was also a night to shine the spotlight on local Girl Scouts and raise money to support their adventures and leadership experiences.
CBS 58 Morning News anchor Jessica Tighe emceed the event.
