Local baseball players examine safety following brutal hit at Brewers game

MILWAUKEE -- Giancarlo Stanton suffered several broken bones in his face, dental damage and cuts that needed stitches as a result of that beaning. Anyone who's ever played baseball will tell you this is an unfortunate part of the game. Players getting hit in the face may be relatively rare, it does happen.

\"Through playing and coaching, I've seen thousands of games and I can count on one hand how many times I've seen somebody get hit in the face. It's very rare,\" said UWM baseball coach, Scott Doffek.
