Law Enforcement Memorial draws hundreds to Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE- The annual Law Enforcement Memorial in Milwaukee drew hundreds Wednesday.

Family members of those killed in the of duty took part in the wreath laying.

Specifically this year, the wreaths were in memory of Ronald Hedbany of the Glendale Police Department, Steven Hasenstab of MPD and Howard Grundman of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn told the crowd, \"The violence of their deaths is a counterpoint to the gentleness of their lives.\"

Milwaukee Police Union president Mike Crivello reminded those taking part that, \"The loss represents responsibility a time to memorialize to reassure and to celebrate the lives that were.\"

The National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund reports that an officer is killed in the line of duty on average once every 58 hours in the United States.
