Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Stealth
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Five people were sent to the hospital after a Milwaukee police chase ended in a fiery crash Tuesday, Jan. 30.
Police said the chase started when they tried to stop a car near 19th and Center. The car was wanted in connection to an armed robbery.
Police said the driver did not listen to their commands to stop, and that’s when the chase began.
They said it ended when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree near 83rd and Burleigh.
Police said inside the car was a 14-year -old girl, 18-year-old man, 19-year-old woman, 20-year-old man, and a 20-year-old woman, all taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and arrested.
People who live in the area said this stretch of Burleigh has a history of reckless driving.
"Especially later at night you see them kind of go pretty fast, but nothing like this, this is newer," said Craig Ferguson, a man who lives near the crash.
Police said several firearms were recovered from the vehicle.
Charges are being referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
