UPDATE: Kim & LaVoy, S.C. offering free gift cards for furloughed federal employees

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The law firm of Kim & LaVoy S.C. says it will hand out an additional 50 gift cards to furloughed federal employees.
In a statement on Thursday, the company said in part:
"We didn’t realize just how great the need was for these furloughed employees. We have spoken with dozens of workers, and it has become clear to us that they have really been struggling. Because of the demand, we have decided to give away another 50 gift cards."
Those wishing to receive a gift card can call 262-796-1400 for more information.

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The law firm of Kim & LaVoy S.C. is helping furloughed federal employees who live in Wisconsin by giving out Target store gift cards in the amount of $50.
The law firm says that any furloughed federal employee residing in Wisconsin who would like a gift card should call 262-796-1400 for more information.
Proof of federal employment is required.
Up to 50 gift cards will be given away.
"While this will certainly not solve all problems for furloughed workers, we wanted to do something to help ease the burden. Hopefully this shutdown will end soon and federal employees can begin receiving pay again. We recognize many federal employees are working without pay for our comfort and protection, and we thank them for their service," the law firm said in a statement.
