MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Friday the 13th might actually end up being someone’s lucky day.
The Mega Millions jackpot has reached an estimated $1.35 billion.
Despite the date, people are still testing their luck to see if they can hit it big.
The odds of getting struck by lightning in a given year are about one out of one million. That's about 300 times more likely than winning the Mega Millions jackpot with one ticket.
But the odds didn’t hold people back from dreaming.
"I'm going to buy a new watch that I had my eye on, get the wife a new car, you know just go blow it," said one Milwaukeean.
Another person said, "it could happen, you never know, and you can't win, if you don’t play. You know today is Friday the 13th? My lucky number is 13, that makes it even better.
The next time it will be Friday the 13th will be in October.
This Mega Million drawing is the second largest in lottery history.
