GLENDALE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- From performing at American Family Field, Governors Balls and festivals, the Brew City Big Band shares their passion for music all across the state.

However, on the fourth Thursday of every month, you can find them in Milwaukee.

"As soon as you walk in the front doors, you hear it and it just creates this bustling atmosphere," said Elise Strupp the director of events at the Bavarian Bierhaus.

The Brew City Big Band features swing music from the mid 1900's, including hits from Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé and more.

One a month, the band takes to the stage at the Bavarian Bierhaus combining what guitarist Addie Madchen says are two fan favorites, beer and live music.

"I love it," said Madchen. "Milwaukee has a long history of beer and a long history of music and being to combine them into one venue that’s right in the heart of the city is fantastic."

Bringing classic hits to life, the band creates the dining experience of a lifetime.

"This music is really classic and it's really timeless," said Kyle Alban, the music director for the Brew City Big Band. "I mean I think there is a lot of stuff that we play that people may not know by name, but they've heard it. "They've heard it somewhere; it's really iconic classic stuff."

Alban says the group loves keeping the music alive.

"It's really important to bring it out to the community and seeing folks that listen to that, especially older folks," said Alban "That was the music that was the music when they were coming of age."

He says the best part is seeing people's reactions to the beloved hits, creating a sense of nostalgia and happiness.

"They love it," said Alban. "It really just brings back memories. It's really quite emotional." It brings just a ton of joy to be able to have these people relive memories through the music."

Strupp says the band brings more than just the music to life.

"It's always a really exciting Thursday night when they play," said Strupp. "Usually our busiest Thursday night of the month."

While Madchen says she loves sharing her passion for jazz through her guitar, she wasn't always on stage, she started off in the crowd.

"I loved the energy, and I loved that they were just playing all these songs from the 30's through 50's that I grew up on," said Madchen "My family grew up on listening to it and it's just a good vibe."

Earning her spot as an official member of the band, she says nothing beats creating live music.

"The whole room just echoes with the horns, and it vibrates you," said Madchen. "Just being a part of that whether it be in the audience or on stage, its uniting."

Coming together to enjoy the timeless music and creating new memories along the way.
