MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee First Lady Dominique Johnson will host the second annual "I’m a Woman First!" M.O.M.S. symposium on Saturday, April 26. Johnson joined us on Wednesday, April 23 to preview the event, which aims to create space for women to discuss the challenges and experiences of womanhood, with a focus on motherhood.
The free event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Abundant Faith Church of Integrity, and pre-registration is required though admission is free.
Organizers say the symposium will include workshops and panel discussions centered on identity, health and societal expectations. Sessions will encourage women to maintain personal goals and embrace community support while navigating caregiving roles. Speakers will emphasize that womanhood extends beyond motherhood.
