MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A southeast Wisconsin volunteer group that helps recover lost pets is offering a free dog microchip clinic later this month.
Kristin Wilson, executive director of Billy’s Posse, joined us Wednesday, March 11 to talk about it.
Billy’s Posse will host the free microchip clinic Sunday, March 22 beginning at 11 a.m. at Bentley’s PETstuff in Pleasant Prairie. Another clinic is scheduled April 26 at End of the Leash in Hales Corners.
She mentioned that the search and recovery team reunited 189 lost dogs with their owners in 2025 and does not charge for its services.
Wilson says microchips provide permanent identification that can significantly improve the chances a lost pet is returned.
