MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 28-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged in connection to a shooting that left two people dead. 

The shooting happened Aug. 17, at a recording studio near 31st and Cameron.

According to a criminal complaint, Kelven Harris was at the recording studio when he told investigators an acquaintance took his gun. While trying to get the gun back, Harris alleged the acquaintance "cursed at him" so he took a gun off the counter and shot them. He then stated, per the complaint, another person tried to grab Harris and another gun inside the room, so he shot them as well.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the two victims as 33-year-old Quentene Williams, who is also known as "FunnyMoney," and 21-year-old Dequaiseon Evans. 

After the shooting, Kelven reportedly called 911 to report he had shot people inside a building near 31st and Cameron. Per the criminal complaint, Harris was upset and stated:

"I'm not gonna lie from this, I did something because somebody took my gun off of me and I was trying to get it back when I had to snatch another gun and I ended up killing somebody, but that's all I can say." 

Harris told investigators, according to the criminal complaint, he then tossed the firearm in a river. Police were able to recover the firearm, the complaint says, and analysis determined the gun was consistent with having fired all of the casings that were recovered from the crime scene. 

Harris has been charged with two counts of first-degree reckless homicide, use of a dangerous weapon. He's due in court for an initial appearance on Monday, Aug. 24.
